Jewelry has always been the first thing I look at when I am in stores, craft shows or museum shops. Several years ago I treated a friend to a wire and bead crochet class for her birthday. I was interested in learning so I signed up to take the class with her and became enthralled with making necklaces!

I found that the process of designing necklaces is very similar to composing a painting. Both involve an understanding of the Elements of Art such as shape, color, texture and the Principles of Design such as movement, balance rhythm, contrast and unity.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Connecticut  and went on to teach art in private and public schools for over twenty years.

Designing jewelry has given me a much needed "life lift". I feel excited when I find new beads and I enjoy combining them to explore the endless possibilities.
